Asa during his teen years.

New leadership for changing times

Asa was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, with a brief stint spent in Montana during his teen years.

Asa has always been a go-getter. After graduating from high school in three short years, he enlisted in the US Army Reserves as a Civil Affairs Specialist. In 2012, Asa graduated from John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School and enrolled at Washington State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice—again, in just three years.

During his time at WSU, Asa joined the Army ROTC through the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP), which gives soldiers the opportunity to commission as an officer through ROTC while drilling in the reserves at the same time. Once he graduated from college, Asa commissioned as a 2LT in the United States Army Military Police Corps.

After college and military training, Asa served as a wildland firefighter for the Oregon Department of Forestry, working in a remote area called Ukiah. He also served as a Deputy Sheriff in Malheur County, Oregon for two years before resigning to follow his true passion: entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurship

With just $1800, a garage, and a dream, Asa co-founded Cascadia Global Security, a veteran-owned and operated security and patrol company. Combining his military and professional experience with natural leadership skills and planning abilities, Asa launched a remarkably successful business. In under two years, CGS has seen rapid growth with locations now in Washington, Colorado, Oregon, Texas, and DC.
